| Highlights: | Mornings began in the lush surroundings of Pebble Beach, with business sessions highlighted by featured speakers. In the afternoon, each attendee participated in an activity of their choice, ranging from golf outings to creative adventures throughout the Monterey Bay area. |
The company requested one activity in which the entire 100-plus group could participate. In collaboration, we designed a team-building GPS Quest on Monterey’s famed Cannery Row, involving managers, clients and their spouses.
To begin, the group was taken to Pirate’s Cove for a beach barbeque. There, couples were divided into teams. Each team received a colored bandana and quest instructions for a tightly scripted adventure along Cannery Row.
Armed with patented cell phone technology to verify missions and digital cameras to document their works of genius and creativity, the teams were challenged with a range of missions that required working together to be successful. Heightening the excitement along the way, local actors interacted with players throughout the course of the game.
The game wrapped with an emceed judging session, prizes, refreshments, and a trophy for the winning team.
Evening at Tehama. The conference dinner was held amid the rugged elegance of Clint Eastwood’s Tehama Golf Club. Themed “Denim & Diamonds”, we used desert foliage to line the perimeter. Silver chairs were accented with silver cushions. Slate blue shimmer silk table linens with sheer diamond-studded overlay and coordinated napkins adorned the tables. Rustic candelabras, white florals tied with silver rope, and large glass diamonds adorned each table.
After a dinner prepared by Tehama’s award-winning chefs, country-pop artist Juice Newton casually walked on stage and entertained participants for an hour. At the evening’s close, each guest received her greatest hits CD, along with her autograph and opportunity to be photographed with the Grammy-winning vocalist.
